No presente artigo pretendemos discutir a questão da paternidade e sua articulação com o campo da saúde, revendo a relação do homem no cuidado com seus filhos. Procuramos destacar a importância desta participação na vida das crianças e do próprio homem. Apontamos ainda algumas dificuldades encontradas pelos homens para a participação no cuidado junto aos seus filhos no âmbito da política de saúde e finalizamos resgatando como os profissionais de saúde podem fortalecer esta relação.Palavras-chave: Paternidade. We stress the importance of participation in the life of children and the man himself.
