The Joint Committee on Federal Social Security Amendments originally drafted California\u27s extensive State Supplementary Program, under the leadership of our former State Assemblyman, now Congressman, John L. Burton. Because of the magnitude of California\u27s investment in aiding its aged, blind and disabled --almost $500 million last year, more than$600 million this year --the Committee has continued to monitor the novel experience of federal administration of state monies
