Abstract
Deer is the largest wild ruminant in Republic of Croatia, an important component of biodiversity and recognisability of lowland hunting grounds in Croatia. Deer is economically important species, and hens and meat often end up as an export product. The practice of hunting economy is to keep track of climate and other elements of habitats. Based on these findings we can assume the realized growth or body mass of calves at the beginning of hunting season, and intervene by increasing or decreasing the cull for some age classes, so the goal is to keep the long-term sustainable management in economical and biological meaning. According to the Hunting Act, each hunting year must be calculated for each species in the hunting ground using the Professional base. The increment is entered in hunting management plan( LGO-3 for large and LGO-4 for small game) and in hunting chronicle. If on the basis of all-year observation, counting and game monitoring, there is a suspicion that the gain was not achieved, there must be a control counting of game before the beginning of the hunting season
