Abstract
Lavanda je biljka koja samoniklo raste na Sredozemlju. Čovjeku je poznata tisućama godina. To je vazdazeleni grm, razgranate stabljike, sivo zelenih listova i modrih ili ljubičastih cvjetova. Zbog visokih sadržaja aromatičnog ulja u cvijetu iznimno je cijenjena. Posjeduje ljekovita svojstva koja pomažu kod raznih bolesti. Osim u medicini lavanda se koristi i za proizvode osobne higijene zbog ugodna mirisa i antibakterijskih djelovanja. Medonosna je biljka koja se koristi u prehrani kao začin. Ima repelentno djelovanje na kukce. Lavanda preferira sunčane i tople terene i nema velike zahtjeve za tlom i vodom. Uzgoj je jednostavan i ne zahtjeva velika ulaganja.
