An  organisation  that  had  developed  a  large Information System  wanted  to embark on a programme of significant  evolution  for  the  system. As  a  precursor to  this, it was  decided  to  create  a  comprehensive  architectural 

description.    T his  undertaking  faced  a  number  of  challenges, including  a  low  general  awareness  of  software  modelling  and software  architecture  practices .    The  approach  taken  for  this 

project  included  the  definition  of  a  simple,  specific, architecture  description  language.    This  paper  describes  the experiences of the  project  and   the   ADL created  as part of it

U modernim gospodarstvima financijske institucije imaju jednu od najznačajnijih uloga. Razvojem modernih financijskih tržišta banke sve veću pozornost pridaju kontroli rizičnosti njihova poslovanja te zbog toga sve više u obzir uzimaju različite rizike. Upravljanje imovinom predstavlja najveći izazov za današnje banke, stoga kreditni rizik predstavlja jedno od glavnih mjesto u poslovnoj strategiji banaka. Banka koristi alate i znanje kako bi pravilno procjenila i kontrolirala rizik koji proizlazi iz odobravanja plasmana. Ukoliko banka nema kvalitetno upravljanje imovinom tada dolazi do velikih problema koji mogu dovesti i do propasti banke. S druge strane, kvalitetno upravljanje imovinom može poboljšati poziciju banke na tržištu, omogućiti joj da se pozicionira kao sigurna i kvalitetna banka što definitivno pridonosi boljem imidžu kod stanovništva i poduzeća. Hrvatske banke imaju posebne odbore i sektore za upravljanje imovinom i rizicima što znači da im daju velikih značaj u poslovnoj strategiji. Ključni alati upravljanja imovinom ogledaju se kroz kontrolu rizika poput kreditnog i likvidnosnog rizika, a to su rizici kojima je imovina najviše izložena. U radu će biti riječi o imovini hrvatskih banaka, koje alate banke koriste kako bi kontrolirale kvalitetu svoje imovine. Upravljanje imovinom prestavlja jednu bitnu ulogu sa kojom se menadžment banaka mora nositi. Izvor konkurentske prednosti banke u upravljanju imovinom ogleda se u sposobnosti na koji način može kontrolirati rizike sa kojima se susreće,te kako može poboljšati postojeće metode internih kontrola.In modern economies, financial institutions play one of the most important roles. With the development of modern financial markets, banks are increasingly paying attention to controlling the riskiness of their business and are therefore increasingly taking into account various risks. Asset management is the biggest challenge for today's banks, so credit risk is one of the main places in banks' business strategy. The Bank uses tools and knowledge to properly assess and control the risk arising from the approval of placements. If the bank does not have good asset management then there are big problems that can lead to bank failure. On the other hand, quality asset management can improve a bank's position in the market, enable it to position itself as a safe and quality bank, which definitely contributes to a better image for the population and businesses. Croatian banks have special boards and sectors for asset and risk management, which means that they are of great importance in the business strategy. Key asset management tools are reflected in risk controls such as credit and liquidity risk, which are the most exposed assets. This thesis will discuss the assets of Croatian banks, which are used by the bank's tools to control the quality of their assets. Asset management is an essential role that bank management has to deal with. The source of a bank's competitive advantage in asset management is reflected in its ability to control the risks it faces, and how it can improve existing internal control method
