Manoeuvering and Vessel Navigation in Traffic Separation Zones and Narrow Channels

Abstract

Manevriranje je vještina koja se razvijala kroz povijest pomorstva, a može se definirati kao umijeće priveza i odveza broda, premještaja broda uz gat ili obalu, sidrenja broda te priveza u četverovez ili na plutaču. Kao što je prethodno navedeno, riječ je o vještini koja se usavršavala usporedno s modernizacijom brodova, odnosno razvijanjem novih tehnologija. Primjenjujući nove tehnologije, odnosno iskorištavajući sve prednosti manevarskih uređaja koje brod posjeduje, nastoji se na što sigurniji način iskoristiti utjecaj vanjskih sila prilikom izvođenja jednog od spomenutih manevara. Ipak, iza svakog uspješnog manevra stoji čovjek, odnosno pomorac, stoga potrebno je istaknuti da se radi o vještini u kojoj se iskustvo stječe vježbom. Cilj ovoga rada je prikazati načine pravilnog manevriranja brodom u zonama odvojene plovidbe i uskim kanalima te utjecaj vanjskih čimbenika na manevriranje. Poseban naglasak će biti stavljen na razvoj i upotrebu sustava odvojene plovidbe kao i sustava nadzora prometa.Maneuvering is a skill which was developed through history of maritime and it can be defined as a skill of berthing and unberthing vessel, transfer over the pier or shore, anchoring vessel and connecting to the four-way or on the buoy. Like it was mentioned before, it is a word about a skill which was improved comparatively with the vessel modernization, respectively by developing of new technologies. Applying new technologies, respectively using all the benefits of maneouvering devices which the vessel owns, efforts are made to use the influence of external forces when performing one of those mentioned maneuvers, as safely as possible. However, behind every successful maneuver is a man, respectively a seafarer, therefore it needs to be pointed out that this is a skill acquired through exercise. The aim of this paper is to show ways to maneuver properly in traffic separation schemes and narrow channels and influence of external factors on maneuvering. Special emphasis will be placed on traffic separation scheme developing and using, like as vessel traffic service
