We can’t wait to make up for lost time and catch you up onsome of the great recent developments in the School of Education and HealthSciences (SEHS)! This issue brings you news regarding Fitz Hall, our newacademic home on campus. We have wonderfully designed new classrooms,labs and community areas on the sixth floor of the former College Park Center.The views of campus and surrounding Dayton community are spectacular. Thisissue also brings news of the successful inception of the Physician Assistantmaster’s program, our latest addition in the health science area. Students fromacross the country are enrolling in this rapidly expanding medical specialty. Thisissue describes the national recognition earned by our Early ChildhoodEducation program from the National Council on Teacher Quality. Thisrecognition is the latest evidence of the Department of Teacher Education’s tradition of excellence. You will also findinteresting the international collaboration that has been established by our Physical Therapy faculty and students. Finally,we bring you news items about our faculty, student, staff, and alumni accomplishments and contributions. I had the opportunity to attend the Congregation of CatholicEducation in Rome in November. This international conference focused onimportance of building and sustaining the Catholic identity of our schools andthe vital role of Catholic education in the 21st century. Participating in theCongregation led me to reflect on the many ways that our Center for CatholicEducation has contributed to Catholic education in the Archdiocese ofCincinnati since its inception in 1996. The feature story focuses on the Center;we will celebrate the Center’s anniversary on June 24, 2016 – and look forwardto our next twenty years of sustaining and supporting Catholic education. OurSchool has long been committed to Catholic education – and this commitmentwill continue in years to come. Our second story describes our nationally rankedonline learning program. Online learning is a vital medium for graduate education. This feature describes the work of ourfaculty and staff to continuously improve our online learning program. SEHS faculty members are featured in stories aboutthe STEM curriculum that was developed in the Bombeck Family Learning Center, the sales and fundraising class in theSport Management program, and Special Education research. We also think you will have great interest in the featuresregarding the pursuits of our students as Fulbright Scholars and as a participants in the DC Flyers program. We also shareinformation about a new faculty member in Teacher Educationn and SEHS alumni and staff news. Finally, you will learnabout our most recent accreditation efforts.  I hope you enjoy the spring issue of this newsletter, share your news andinsights with us, and come visit us the next time you are close to campus.
