Geographical perspective on sustainable development

Abstract

The goal of sustainable development is reduction of environmental, social, and economical problems on the global level, and the contribution to the continuous and stable social development. That could be achieved by the means of environmental protection, contribution to the social cohesion and human prosperity. By changing the development pattern to the at least partly more sustainable one, we would counteract potential environmental, social and economical problems that could worsen the human condition. Sustainable development would be easier to accomplish by expanding and applying scientific knowledge. It would be best implemented on the holistic level, that would solve both environmental, social and economical problems at once. By educating the people about those findings, and its implementation, the goal of sustainable development would be more effectively applied
