Delaying admission to primary school

Abstract

Cilj ovog završnog rada je istražiti broj djece koji su u pedagoškoj godini 2017./2018. imali odgođen polazak u osnovnu školu. Instrument istraživanja je anonimni upitnik koji je poslan na adrese vrtića u Republici Hrvatskoj. Također, postavljena su pitanja o razlogu odgode i aktivnostima u koje su djeca tijekom odgode bila uključena. Rezultati ankete pokazali su da je u 27 vrtića, koliko ih je sudjelovalo u istraživanju, 77 djece imalo odgodu polaska u OŠ dok u dva vrtića nije bilo nijedne odgode u navedenoj pedagoškoj godini. Kao najčešći razlog odgode ispitanici su naveli zdravstveno stanje djeteta. Podatci prikupljeni u ovom istraživanju detaljnije su prikazani dalje u radu.The aim of this paper is to investigate how many school enrollments to primary school were delayed in the school year 2017-18. The reseach instrument is an anonymous questionnaire sent to email addresses all over the Republic of Croatia. The respondents were also asked about the reasons for delay and which acitivities children were included in during this period of delay. The results of the survey show that in 27 kindergartens participated in this research, 77 school enrollments to primary school were delayed. Exaptions are two kindergartens with no delay in the school year mentioned before. The respondents adduce that the most common reason for delay is the health condition of the child.
