Documenting: understanding how children learn and apply problem solving strategies

Abstract

Važnost dokumentiranje u odgojno-obrazovnoj ustanovi posebno je naglašeno u Nacionalnom kurikulumu za rani i predškolski odgoj i obrazovanje (2015), prema kojemu ono omogućava promatranje i bolje razumijevanje akcija djeteta, procesa učenja... Djeca uče na različite načine i koriste se raznim strategijama rješavanja problema koje odgojitelj može dokumentirati i koristiti u daljnjim refleksijama s kolegama i djecom. Odgojitelj može na različite načine dokumentirati dječje učenje ( video zapisi, fotografije, transkripti...). U empirijskom dijelu rada prikazano je etnografsko istraživanja koja se smatra najprikladnijom metodom istraživanja jer se odvija u prirodnom okruženju djeteta - dječjem vrtiću. Istraživanje je provedeno u sklopu vježbi iz kolegija Integrirani predškolski kurikul II, u kojemu je sudjelovalo osmero djece predškolske dobi. U radu su prikazane analize foto zapisa i transkripata prikupljenih tijekom istraživanja, a koji upućuju na različite načine učenja djeteta i strategije rješavanja problema.The importance of recording and documenting in an educational institution is particularly highlighted in the National Curriculum for Early Childhood and Pre-School Education (2015), which allows better observation and understanding of a child's behaviour, learning processes, etc... Children learn in different ways using various problem solving strategies which the educator can document and use in further reflections with colleagues and children. The educator can document the child's learning in different ways (videos, photos, transcripts ...). In the empirical part of the work, ethnographic research is considered to be the most appropriate research method because it takes place in the natural environment of the child - kindergarten. The research was conducted as part of the Integrated Preschool Curriculum II exercise, among a group of eight children of preschool age. This paper presents the analysis of photo records and transcripts collected during the research to indicate different ways of child's learning and problem solving/trouble shooting strategies
