Distribution:Africa, Australia, Cambodia, China, Malaysia,Melanesia, Micronesia, New Caledonia,Thailand (Zhu & So 1999, 2001).Malaysia (Mainland)Cololejeunea malayana TixierThe species is not new for Malaysia: It was firstcollected in Tana Rata/Cameron Highlands 1970by Tixier, 1971 in Maxwell Hill/Perak by Tixier.He published  his finding 1980 as endemic toMalaysia, described and illustrated it  in 1985.110TROPICAL BRYOLOGY 27  (2006)Eggers1993 Szabo found the species in KalimantanBarat (Borneo) and published it 1997. All recordswere epiphyllous. The species is mentioned here,because in my collection of 1986 from GunungBerenbam / Cameron Highlands (c.1700m CEL2/348, herb. J.Eggers, conf. T.Pócs), alsoepiphyllous, there are two deviations fromTixier’s original description: 1. the inflatedlobules have sigmoid cells in the basic part or atleast a tendency. 2. the ligulate lobules have asingle row margin of hyaline cells. As I have notseen the type, I cannot decide if these featuresmay be an addition to Tixier’s description orbelong to a deviant form.Drepanolejeunea foliicola Horik. (syn.Rhaphidolejeunea foliicola (Horik.) Chen)Pahang, Cameron Highlands, Brinchang,Djungle Walk No.3, 1500-1600m alt.,epiphyllous in cloud forest, leg. 1986 J.EggersMAY 2/372 c.andr. Distribution: China, Japan.Each leaf has only 1 (basal) ocellus, and theandroecium is not covered by the bracteoles. Sothe specimen is clearly differentiated from thenewly described D. commutata Grolle & Zhu(2000).Papua New GuineaCololejeunea angulata (Steph.) Mizut.Mizutani (1965) described and illustrated thisspecies and reported it from New Guinea andthe Philippines. Tixier (1985) placed it insynonymy with C. cuneata (Lehm. & Lindenb.)Steph., but Szabo (1997) who collected it inBorneo (Kalimantan) regarded angulata as anindependent species, especially in respect to thedifferent gemmae. I agree with Szabo, as alsothe marginal hyaline cells are different in shape.On the other hand, Cololejeunea sinuosa, firstreported and described by Onraedt (1989) fromthe Philippines and reported by me (Eggers &al. 1998) from Papua New Guinea, seems to beidentical with angulata and should be regardedas its synonym.Cololejeunea grushvitzkiana PócsThe epiphyllous plants collected 1997 byJ.Eggers (herbar no. PNG 6/175) in the Kiungaarea at 50m alt. and published (Eggers & al.1998) under C. balansae (Steph.) Mizutani arein fact C. grushvitzkiana Pócs. My formererroneous determination was due to the wrongillustration in Tixier (1985) which became clearafter the article of Zhu & So (2000).  They placedbalansae in synonymy with C. goebelii(Gottsche) Schiffn., depending mainly on thestylus which is 3-7 cells long. In the Papuanplants there is no obvious stylus. The only slightdifference from the illustration provided by Zhu& So is that the perianths of the Papuan plantshave a short beak. Distribution: Vietnam.Cololejeunea sigmoidea Ast & TixierWestern Prov., Kiunga, ca.50m alt., epiphyllousin lowland rainforest, leg. 1997 J.Eggers PNG6/239 c.gemmae. Distribution: Cambodia, China,India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand,Vietnam (Zhu & So 2001).
