The aim of the thesis is to examine how land consolidation affects the conditions for agricultural production, focusing on the access to agricultural land holdings. The GIS tools are used to analyse the efficiency of land consolidation. A comparative analysis is used to show the difference in the state before land consolidation took place and after it. The suitability of GIS algorithms to analyse the improvement of access to agricultural land holdings is checked. For the chosen study area of Dravsko polje a new parcel layout and number of parcels are presented, whereas for some farms the changed distance between the house and the land parcels as well as the optimal path to reach them are shown. Although the land consolidation area is small, the land consolidation process has been proved efficient in all aspects. The average size of the land parcels has increased, the number of them has decreased and the access to agricultural land holdings has improved.\u
