The concept and interpretations of sustainable development
2012 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of publishing the report entitled Our
Common Future by the World Commission on Environment and Development.
In the report the principles and concept of sustainable development are conceived.
During the last quarter of century several researchers and researches have dealt with the interpretation of sustainability principles and sustainability
itself. In the subject matter of sustainability a number of world conferences were
organized.
The present study treats the economic implications, keeping in mind the
complexity of the notion as well. Among interpretations, the requirements of
sustainability of stocks are examined and it is also discussed that from the point
of view of economy and society those systems can be sustainable which are able
to maintain the output flow levels. Other important issues are social competitiveness
and measurability related to sustainability. (chiral synthesis versus the

The study briefly examines the levels of sustainability and the six main steps
of transition to sustainability
