Mainstream literature on the sustainable urban development over the past three decades has tended to stress the concept of sustainability and its conceptualization from various perspectives in urban planning literature. Sustainability in this study is intensely debated through its ecologic, spatial, social, economic and institutional aspects in the context of urban planning.
