Two new and one little-known species of the millipede family Pyrgodesmidae from near Manaus, Central Amazonia, Brazil (Diplopoda: Polydesmida)

Abstract

Gonographis minuscula n.sp. and G. duodecimlobata n.sp. are described, and Araguayadesmus cochlearius SCHUBART, 1947, a species hitherto known solely from Pará, is recorded, from material deriving from a nonflooded upland secondary forest (= capoeira) in the vicinity of Manaus. Besides, Adenomeropus HOFFMAN, 1966, a monobasic genus from Guyana, is formally synonymized under Araguayadesmus SCHUBART, 1947 (syn. n.), and Adenomeropus fitzgeraldi HOFFMAN, 1966, is formally real located within Araguayadesmus (comb. n.)
