Abstract
This study represents an overview of some aspects ofpsychosocial readaptation of the atomic bomb survivors in Hiroshima.Reports from 31 survivors, 8 men and 23 women, were used as data forthe analysis. The reports were collected individually through a structuredinterview, in one of two hospitais in Hiroshima which deliver services to thesurvivors. The data were grouped accordíng to the following áreas: family,work, health, and psychological readaptation. These data were analysedconsidering the psychosocial aspects of disasters and the characteristicsof the Japanese culture.O presente trabalho representa um levantamento de algumas características da readaptação psicossocial dos sobreviventes da bomba atómica em Hiroshima. Como subsídio para esse levantamento foram utilizados os depoimentos de 31 sobreviventes, sendo 8 homens e 23 mulheres. Os depoimentos foram obtidos individualmente por meio de uma entrevista estruturada, em um dos dois hospitais de Hiroshima que atendem os sobreviventes da bomba. Os dados foram agrupados de acordo com as seguintes áreas: família, trabalho, saúde, e readaptação psicológica. Os dados dos depoimentos foram analisados segundo aspectos psicossociais de desastres e características da cultura japonesa
