Esfera pública e sociedade civil na teoria política habermasiana: considerações histórico-conceituais introdutórias

Abstract

Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é explorar as noções de esfera pública e sociedade civil no pensamento político habermasiano, a partir de uma breve introdução histórica dos dois conceitos, para depois situá-los na obra do autor, desde as primeiras formulações dos anos 1960 até Facticidade e validade, dos anos 1990. O propósito maior deste percurso panorâmico é introduzir e familiarizar o leitor em relação a algumas das principais categorias conceituais da teoria habermasiana e sua articulação interna. Tal tarefa será levada a cabo por meio de uma reconstrução de caráter histórico-teórico dos dois principais conceitos aqui tratados, de modo a permitir que se compreenda os acréscimos e refinamentos teóricos empreendidos pelo filósofo social ao longo das últimas décadas, bem como a relevância dessas categorias na sua produção intelectual. Abstract The aim of this article is to explore the ideas of public sphere and civil society in the political thought of J. Habermas, starting with a brief historical introduction to both concepts followed by an effort to situate them in the works of the author, from his first conceptual definitions of the sixties until his Between facts and norms, published in 1992. The purpose of this panoramic approach is to introduce the reader into and make him/her familiar with some of the main concepts of the habermasian theory and their internal structure. This task shall be brought off through a historical-theoretical reconstruction of the two concepts, in order to understand the additions and conceptual refinements undertaken by the social philosopher during the last decades as well as the relevance of such categories in his intellectual work.
