Research has now proven that young people active in the arts have higher grades and achieve more academically. Although most of us never end up on the stage fo r a career, it is safe to say that experiencing the performing arts during our academic years w ill somehow influence us as adults. Perhaps it w ill add a spark of creativity in our chosen profession, reduce our fear of public speaking, allow us to see a situation In our lives from  a new perspective or just appreciate the beauty of an artist's work. The stage of Edgerton Center fo r the Performing Arts has been faithfu lly contributing to SHU students, faculty, alumni and the families of Fairfield County fo r well over 20 years.
