The aim of this cross-cultural study is to investigate two key processes of parent-child relationship during adolescence: parental monitoring and parental trust. A comparison between the perceptions of 375 Italian adolescents and 377 Chilean adolescents was made. Students filled out a self-report questionnaire at school. Findings show similarities between the two countries, as well as significant differences; in particular, Italian and Chilean adolescents have different perceptions of the relationship with fathers, whereas they share similar perceptions of the relationship with mothers
