Since 1996, the holders of the Spanish degree in Translation and Interpreting have been exempted from the Sworn Translator-Interpreter exam set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as long as they provide evidence that they have received specific training in both legal and/or economic translation and interpreting. However, there are no accurate data available on this professional activity, and it is still a rather unknown profession not only for the general public but also for some members of the academia. This paper presents the results of a study based on one focus group with graduates from the University of Granada who have qualified as Sworn Translators- Interpreters following the abovementioned procedure, in order to provide a panorama of sworn translating and interpreting (English-Spanish) from the statements made by the participants in our study.Desde 1996, los licenciados en Traducción e Interpretación han disfrutado de la exención del examen de Traductor-Intérprete Jurado siempre que acrediten haber cursado una formación específica en traducción jurídica y/o económica y en interpre- tación. No obstante, a día de hoy se continúa sin disponer de datos rigurosos acerca de la realidad profesional de un Traductor-Intérprete Jurado, por lo que esta profesión sigue siendo bastante desconocida tanto para el público general como para parte del mundo académico de nuestra disciplina. En este artículo presentamos los resultados obtenidos mediante la realización de un grupo de discusión con licenciados de la Universidad de Granada que han obtenido el nombramiento de Traductor-Intérprete Jurado de inglés por esta vía de la acreditación académica, con el fin de ofrecer una panorámica de la traducción y la interpretación juradas en esta combinación lingüística a partir de las manifestaciones de los participantes en nuestro estudio
