There will be a book signing reception after the meeting at Drop Me a Line, 6 l 5A Congress Street, Portland. 14 October: "Serving People in the AIDS Epidemic," Staff people from The AIDS Project (TAP), Maine's largest AIDS service organization, present the latest on pr~rams, community needs, and state and federal developments. We welcome Deborah Sheilds, TAPS new Executive Director. 21 October: Grand Opening of Drop Me a Line's new store at 61 SA Congress Street!!! John Preston, recipient of the Lamda Award For distinc-tion in gay and lesbian writing, will be signing copies of his new book Flesh and the Word II (Peguin}, from 6 :00 PM to 8 :00PM. Drop Me a Line will contribute 10% of todays receipts to The Matlovich Society. 28 October: "Fortune 500 to self-employed: Gays and lesbians in the business world." Join our panel of Local Gay men and lesbians who will share their business experiences. 11 November: "AVeteran's Day Dance Party Benefit for The Matlovich Society'' at The Underground, 3 Spring Street, Portland. 7:30 PM to l :00 AM. 9 December: "Twice Blessed: Growing up Jewish and Gay." Members of Am Chofshi, Maine's les bian and gay Jewish social group celebrate Hannukah and discuss what it's like being Jewish and gay in a predominatly Christian culture. 23 December: "Matlovich Open House." Get away from the seasonal madness as The Matlovich Society throws a house party for our friends. Bring something tasty to share. Starts at: 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at 28 Colonial Road, Portland.
