The article deals with the issue of the protection of Polish archival collections abroad. The author emphasizes the value of the documents that are created today, which are or will be a source for research on the history of Polish emigration. She draws attention to individual and institutional initiatives of the Polish community that start dealing with the protection of Polish archive materials. In addition, she describes some examples of support for these institutions by the KARTA Foundation and the Head Office of the State Archives. She offers a closer look at the cooperation between the KARTA Foundation and the Polish community managing Polish archive heritage, that results in digitisation of archive materials and the presence of these materials in the Polish archive network CATL.Artykuł podejmuje problematykę ochrony polskich zbiorów archiwalnych za granicą. Autorka zwraca uwagę na znaczenie dokumentów tworzonych współcześnie, które także są lub będą źródłem do badań nad historią polskiej emigracji. Podaje przykłady inicjatyw osób prywatnych i instytucji polonijnych podejmujących się ochrony archiwaliów polskich. Opisuje też wybrane przykłady wsparcia udzielanego tym instytucjom przez Ośrodek KARTA oraz Naczelną Dyrekcję Archiwów Państwowych.
