The authors observe that more and more often on library websites there are tabs with links to virtual exhibitions, however this topic is rarely covered in the national literature therefore they decided to deal with this issue. The article provides the definition of virtual exhibitions and outlines their advantages. It discusses e-exhibitions organised in the Main Library of the University of Science and Technology in Krakow. Also it addresses the lack of a nationwide database registering exhibitions available on the Internet.Autorki zauważając, że coraz częściej na stronach internetowych bibliotek umieszczane są zakładki z linkami do prezentacji wystaw wirtualnych oraz że temat ten jest dość rzadko spotykany w publikacjach postanowiły zająć się tym zagadnieniem. W artykule podano definicje wystaw wirtualnych, przedstawiono ich zalety. Zaprezentowano e-wystawy zrealizowane w Bibliotece Głównej Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie.
