Exu: cosmovisão, tradição e rito nos candomblés de Nação Ketu

Abstract

Esta pesquisa apresenta um dos rituais mais tradicionais do Candomblé: o Orô[1] para Exu. O campo de estudo foi um terreiro de Candomblé da periferia de Fortaleza e a abordagem dos sujeitos da pesquisa foi desde a figura mítica e religiosa de Exu até os membros da confraria religiosa. Para sua realização, fez-se necessária a participação no ritual e em tudo que o envolve. A metodologia é de enfoque qualitativo[2], priorizando a etnografia com pesquisa e observações participantes. Apoiou-se teoricamente em Verger (2000), Strauss (2003), Libâneo (1994) e em outros autores de preciosa colaboração. O principal resultado se apresenta à academia de maneira subjetiva, uma vez que a essência deste estudo está no desejo de contribuir com o crescente processo de legitimação e difusão da cultura afro-brasileira nos meios textuais.Palavras-chave: Candomblé. The locus of study was a Candomblé yard in the suburbs of Fortaleza, and the approach of the subject of the research comprehended both the mythical and religious figure of Exu and members of religious brotherhood. For its accomplishment, it was necessary the participation in the ritual and in everything that involves it. The methodology has a qualitative focus, prioritizing the ethnography with research and participant observations. Theoretically, it is based on Verger (2000), Strauss (2003), Libâneo (1994) and other authors of valuable collaboration. The main result is presented to the academy in a subjective way, since the essence of this study is the desire to contribute to the growing process of legitimacy and dissemination of African-Brazilian culture in the textual media.Keywords: Candomblé.
