En l'article es ressegueix l'obra de Joan Fontcuberta (1938-2018), catedràtic de l'àrea de Traducció i d'Interpretació de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, com a traductor de Stefan Zweig, uns dels autors en llengua alemanya de més èxit a Espanya. Primer s'exposen algunes particularitats de la traducció del 2001, simultàniament al català i al castellà, de l'autobiografia zweiguiana El món d'ahir, amb una atenció especial als fragments mutilats per la censura franquista en la versió castellana del 1947. A continuació s'assenyalen alguns trets destacats de les traduccions catalanes de les novel·les La impaciència del cor (2010), Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, L'embriaguesa de la metamorfosi (2015) i Clarissa (2017), i finalment de la novel·la curta Por (2018). En totes Fontcuberta mostra no només el seu "bon nas" de traductor, sinó també el seu profund coneixement de la llengua.This article aims to present the work of Joan Fontcuberta (1938-2018), Professor in Translation and Interpreting at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, as a translator of the work of Stefan Zweig, one of the best-known German language authors in Spain. In a first step are presented some of the particularities of his Catalan and Spanish translations in 2001 of Zweig's autobiography The World of Yesterday by specially considering the passages that had been mutilated by Francoist censorship in the Spanish 1947 version. Then are commented some of the main aspects and resources of the Catalan translations of the novels Confusion of Feelings (2010), Ciutat de Barcelona Award, The Post Office Girl (2015) and Clarissa (2017), and finally of the novella Fear (2018). In all of them Fontcuberta does not only show that his is a natural talent for translating, but also that he has a deep knowledge of language
