A joint initiative of the U.S. Departments ofState and Education, International Education Weekwas first held in 2000, and today is celebrated in more than 100 countriesthroughout the world. The Memorial Union, Office of International Students,Center for International Education, Residential Life, Navitas, ConfuciusInstitute, ESL Institute and several student organizations are collaborating tobring you this year’s festivities, which will be taking place November 12-18,with a majority of events being held at the MUB.International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits ofinternational education and exchange worldwide. This annual initiative aims to promote international understanding and buildsupport for international educational exchange. The goal is to encourage the development of programs that prepare Americans tolive and work in a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the United States.To that end, UNH has created events showcasing Taiko Drumming, a slide exhibit of UNH student study abroad photos, talks onthe latest elections in Quebec and Global Sustainable Food Systems (by IA alumna Jacqueline Lewin ’05; read more about her asan IA alumna and her Master's program in Italy), Crossing Borders—a film designed to deepen intercultural empathy and initiatestudent dialogues, and Speed Travelling—an international exposé on favorite places visited by UNH faculty, staff and students.Check the web for the full schedule of events.
