This text includes the modeling of Webster Engine, an alternative internal combustion engine,
which uses gas as fuel. For the representation of its pieces in 3D, starting from the plans with the
dimensions, the computer-aided design program CATIA, in its version V5R19, is used. For the
assembly of them and the virtual representation, the same program is used. The rendering is done
with the program KeyShot, in its 8th version.
In order to introduce the fundamental purpose of the work, already mentioned, the alternative
piston engine is presented first, with its historical development that makes it what it is nowadays.
Due to the increasing use of gas fuel for this type of engines, a chapter is included analyzing its
advantages and disadvantages. Finally, a detailed guide with the most important instructions of
the software used to perform the modeling, is presented.
The body, is made out of the modelling, assembly and rendering of the engine’s pieces, explaining
the steps followed to develop them and the role played by them in the engine. Later, the steps
followed to develop the virtual representation are explained.
To conclude, the results obtained are analyzed, the programs used are compared with others
designed for the same purpose and a brief idea on possible advances in the future is included.Universidad de Sevilla. Grado en Ingeniería Aeroespacia
