El artículo trata sobre los antecedentes históricos del cogito cartesiano en san Agustín, Gómez Pereira y Francisco Sánchez, así como las distintas formulaciones de Descartes y trata de dilucidar si el cogito es conocimiento intuitivo o entimema.The article deals with the historical background of the Cartesian cogito in Saint Augustine, Gómez Pereira and Francisco Sánchez, as well as the different Descartes´ formulations, and tries to elucidate whether the cogito is intuitive knowledge or enthymeme
