Abstract
The article analyzes the Bolsa Família, the main Brazilian income transfer program, by approaching it through the debate recognition-redistribution. My intention is to see to what extent this controversy over recognition and redistribution helps to elucidate some aspects of the discourse on the Bolsa Família, mainly its ambivalence in characterizing what should be an emancipatory politics. For that reason, the article concentrates upon the analysis of the relationship between the conditionalities of this distributive program and the ideal of emancipation postulated by the different analysts. Key words: recognition, redistribution, Bolsa Família.O artigo analisa o Bolsa Família, o principal programa brasileiro de transferência de renda, abordando-o a partir do debate reconhecimento-redistribuição. Minha intenção é ver em que medida esta controvérsia sobre reconhecimento e redistribuição ajuda a elucidar alguns aspectos do discurso sobre o Bolsa Família, principalmente sua ambivalência na caracterização do que deve ser uma política emancipatória. Por isso, o artigo concentra-se na análise da relação entre as condicionalidades deste programa distributivo e o ideal de emancipação postulado pelos diferentes analistas.
