Rupturas e continuidades na Linguística Aplicada Crítica: uma abordagem historiográfica

Abstract

In this text, we make use of principles of Linguistic Historiography to present some theoretical ruptures and continuities of the concept Critical Applied Linguistics. Supported by theoretical premises of Applied Linguistics and Critical Applied Linguistics, we describe and analyze the five types of politics presented by Alastair Pennycook in the book Critical applied linguistics: a critical introduction. In the end, we conclude that these five types of politics point to the politicization of Applied Linguistics, and simultaneously, to the continuity of the reflections that seek to legitimate the scientifi city and the social relevance of this research field.Key words: ruptures and continuities, critical applied linguistics, linguistic historiography.Neste texto, valemo-nos de princípios da Historiografia Linguística para apresentar algumas rupturas e continuidades teóricas do conceito Linguística Aplicada Crítica. Amparados por pressupostos teóricos da Linguística Aplicada e da Linguística Aplicada Crítica, descrevemos e analisamos os cinco tipos de política apresentados por Alastair Pennycook na obra Critical applied linguistics: a critical introduction. Ao final, concluímos que esses cinco tipos de política apontam para a politização dos estudos em Linguística Aplicada e, ao mesmo tempo, para a continuidade das refl exões que buscam legitimar a cientificidade e a relevância social desse campo de pesquisa.Palavras-chave: rupturas e continuidades, linguística aplicada crítica, historiografia linguística
