少数民族的权利保障是国际社会少数人权利保障的重要内容,国际社会由此制定了一系列国际公约表明了对少数人权利保护的鲜明立场。这种保护既有一般性的平等保护,也有关于对少数人在政治参与、语言文字、宗教信仰和社会发展方面的特殊保护,因此成为少数民族权利保障的重要国际法依据。中国遵守国际公约的相关规则,坚定地履行保障少数民族合法权益的国家义务,在保障本国少数民族的权利方面进行了长期而且卓有成效的工作,但是少数民族在社会、经济、文化等方面与汉族仍然存在较大的差距,需要进一步加大对少数民族权利的保障力度,以实现共同繁荣进步。The guarantee of minority rights and benefits is important component of minority right and benefit, thus the international society formulates a series of conventions to state clearly the attitude of human right protection of minorities. Not only do these protections include the conventional equal opportunity, but they also include the special protective measures to minorities in terms of political participation, language and character, religious beliefs and social development. They have become important international legislative authority to guarantee right and benefit of minorities. China observes relevant regulations of international conventions and carries out obligations of guaranteeing legal right and benefit of minorities. It has long been carried out efficient works in the light of protecting right and benefit of minorities at home.
