Participatory monitoring and evaluation in community forest user groups of Nepal : reflections from a participatory action research; final report

Abstract

This report highlights processes and insights from developing a self-monitoring process (or participatory monitoring and evaluation) in two community forest user groups (CFUG) from regions of Nepal as part of larger project, “Improving Livelihoods and Equity in Community Forestry in Nepal: The role of Adaptive Collaborative Management.” Community forestry aims to protect and manage the forests while providing for the forest product needs of rural people. All the CFUGs formed separate action groups or sub-committees to ensure periodic review and reassessment of indicators, which is vital for users to share, learn and reflect upon the results of their CFUG’s actions
