La filiera della soia nell’America del Cono Sud: dinamiche, processi e attori

Abstract

In recent years, soy has become the main agricultural activity in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay, reaching vast territorial proportions and assuming a great economical and commercial prominence. The article’s objective is to analyse the soy market dynamics, processes and stakeholders in the Latin American Southern Cone, highlighting the similitudes, differences, complementarities and interconnections amongst the five countries mentioned. Besides the specialized academic literature used for the subjects’ discussion, secondary data from the different countries were surveyed and analysed, and information from media releases was collected. Results indicate a strong similarity and interrelation in the Southern Cone soy market, although each country has a  different and specific trajectory
