He has studied with George Criscione, Kevin Connell, and Gary Werdesheim. As a student at the Florida State University's School of Music he studied tabla with Nalini Vinayak and performed in the Sekaa Gong Hanuman Agung with Michael Bakan. He was employed as the percussionist for Mainstage in Tallahassee, Florida where he performed in Pippen, Hair, Pal Joey, Girl Crazy, Lucky Stiff, and Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera. With Florida State University's Opera he was the timpanist for productions of Berlioz's Beatrice and Benedict, Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Rossini's Barber of Seville. He has recorded two albums with the nine-piece, Boston-based ska band, the Double Deckers. As a member of the Double Deckers, Jared has toured with the Skatalites, Laurel Aitken, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. He has also performed in the 1999 and 2000 Vans' Warped Tours. He competed in the 1998 Leigh Howard Stevens International Marimba Festival and Competition at the Eastman School of Music. It was there that he attended classes with Leigh Howard Stevens, Gordon Stout, John Beck, and members of the percussion ensemble NEXUS. Jared is currently teaching students of all ages, performing and composing new music with the ensemble Catch the Sun, and working on his Bachelor's degree in percussion performance. He studies with Dr. Michael Parola at Lynn University's Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida.
