Biological control of cucumber and green lettuce pests and diseases

Abstract

Najznačajnije bolesti i štetnici povrća mogu se suzbijati agrotehničkim, mehaničkim, fizikalnim, biološkim i kemijskim mjerama. Biološke metode suzbijanja bolesti i štetnika obuhvaćaju korištenje živih korisnih organizama i produkata njihovoga metabolizma. U svrhu biološke kontrole na povrću, mogu se koristiti korisni kukci, entomopatogene nematode, bakterije i gljive. Biološka kontrola je način suzbijanja bolesti i štetnika koja nema negativan utjecaj na čovjekovo zdravlje i na okoliš te isključuje problem rezistentnosti štetnika. Biološke mjere zaštite uspješno se koriste prilikom uzgoja krastavca i zelene salate. No, s obzirom na kratku vegetaciju zelene salate, češće se primjenjuje na krastavcu.The most significant vegetable diseases and pests can be repressed using agrobiotechnical, mechanical, physical, biological and chemical measures (methods). Biological methods of suppression of diseases and pests include the usage of living useful organisms and products of their metabolism. For the purpose of biological control on vegetable useful pests, entomopathogenic nematodes, bacteria and fungi can be used. The biological control is a method of suppression of diseases and pests which doesn't have a negative effect on human health and environment, and it rules out the problem of pest resistance. The biological measures of protection are successfully used during the cucumber and lettuce cultivation. However, considering the short vegetation of lettuce, it is more frequently used on cucumber
