En este ensayo señalamos algunos rasgos semióticos y discursivos que presenta la información sobre violencia e inseguridad en la televisión abierta mexicana. Se contextualiza la importancia del tema y el peso central que forma parte del discurso de medios en los telediarios y noticieros tanto matutinos como vespertinos; se rescatan de manera general algunos rasgos y estrategias utilizados sobre todo en la caracterización del rostro, el atuendo y el cuerpo de los delincuentes.In this paper we point out some semiotics and discursive mechanisms of reporting violence and insecurity in the Mexican television. It contextualizes the importance of the issue and the weight as a part of media discourse both morning and evening editions. There are rescued in a general way some features and strategies used primarily in the characterization of criminals faces and clothing identifed in the news for analysis
