Lectures are useful in medical teaching to allow teaching staff to deliver a volume of potentially complex information to a large number of students at one time. However, because of their didactic nature, student learning is not always optimally promoted using this teaching style. This workshop will aim to investigate ways of developing interactive lecture features, to promote student engagement and thus improve learning and retention of knowledge. Participants in this workshop will learn some innovative ways to introduce quiz questions into their lectures, to highlight key learning points and revision topics. There will also be a discussion about how to introduce quizzes and questions using the turningpoint system, and the use of interactive PowerPoint slides and hyper-linking techniques
