PLEOMORPHIC ADENOMA
Definition: A rare lesion morphologically similar to pleomorphic adenoma (benign mixed tumour) of salivary glands.
Epidemiology
These lesions have been reported in female patients over a wide range of age. Occasional cases affecting the male breast are on record.
Clinical features: Pleomorphic adenoma of the breast usually affects the periareolar region. On mammography it can mimic a carcinoma, as a consequence of calcifications. Malignancy can be simulated also on fine needle aspiration cytology
