The first occurrence of Leucophanes brasiliense BROTH. and L. calymperatum C. MUELL. (Leucobryaceae, Bryopsida) in Brazilian Amazonia, is herein reported. These species grow on tree trunks and on lianas in humid forests. As the specimens were not fertile, identifications were based on morphological characters of the gametophytes.
