This dissertation has as main objective evaluate and characterize the
domiciliary support service of two private entities, a for-profit and a non-profit,
using as a methodology the Business Model Ontology of Osterwalder &
Pigneur (2009). At the same time we tried to understand perspectives clients
about quality and satisfaction with the service. In this, we proceeded to the
literature review that allows us to map a business model of the home help
service profitable and unprofitable. This model served as the basis for the
development of an interview guide used to collect data. As a methodology we
used two case studies done with the interview, and applied an instrument for
measuring perceived quality and satisfaction to their customers. After an
analysis of the results we conclude that the models are similar with regard to
the form of service delivery, training of human resources, commitment to quality
service, and the type of relationship established with the client. The models are
different on the customer segment, on the focus on innovation, on strategy and
intensity of the distribution channels, the amount and type of partnerships, and
the return model.
We concluded that the business model of the organizations studied is clearly
defined by the nature of the profit or nonprofit organization, which in turn is
reflected in the value proposition and consistent with other components of what
are the objectives and organization's mission
