Motility in Newborn Infants

Abstract

The motility of 73 newborn infants under 16 days of age has been measured by the stabilimeter-polygraph technique. Some of the more important results are: the demonstration of individual differences in motility soon after birth; the absence of sex differences; the relation of motility to nutritional status, hunger, body temperature, sleep, and various physical measurements and indices such as weight, height, body surface, etc
