There is growing interest in adolescent persona-
lity pathology as developmental antecedents of 
adult personality pathology. Simultaneously, a 
careful but certain movement towards a dimen-
sional approach to personality pathology can be 
observed. The present thesis provides a compre-
hensive evaluation of a dimensional instrument 
to assess personality pathology in adolescents, 
the Dimensional Assessment of Personality 
Pathology – Basic Questionnaire for Adolescents. 
Several aspects of reliability and validity are 
investigated in two large samples of referred and 
non-referred adolescents, respectively. Doing so, 
this thesis aims to extend knowledge on adoles-
cent personality pathology when conceptualized 
from a dimensional perspective.
