Once Upon a Time… Once upon a time — what seems like a long time ago but is really only yesterday — women were invisible — theoretically, academically, and politically. From the vantage point of the early 1990s, it is hard to remember — and difficult to imagine — the scholarly world without books, journals, newsletters, or courses that even mentioned women.
