This effort seeks to demonstrate principles of adaptive automation, based on the cognitive-affective status of personnel and the current mission requirements, by combining key enabling technologies, including the support of decision making and the identification of operator status. The fused output from these technologies allows for the adaptive control of interfaces and dynamic function allocation. These systems are integrated using principles of cognitive engineering, and demonstrated in a fast jet simulation environment during a realistic military mission.These sub-systems are integrated into the augmented cockpit. This provides a test bed for examining the principles and practice for augmenting cognition in the fast jet environment.</p
