Devido ao número de pessoas que utilizam a infraestrutura destinada aos pedestres, é essencial que ela obedeça a parâmetros que garantam segurança nos deslocamentos. Existem leis e manuais que regem a forma de executar dispositivos para pedestres. Entretanto, eles representam as reais necessidades dos usuários? Este trabalho foi realizado através de duas pesquisas de opinião e uma análise de campo. Essas pesquisas buscavam identificar, dentre os dispositivos existentes nas principais normas e publicações, quais eram indispensáveis para a população e, dentre os mais importantes, como as pessoas avaliavam a condição dos dispositivos existentes na área de estudo. A análise in loco objetivou um exame técnico da infraestrutura existente, identificando não só os dispositivos mencionados pela população, mas, tecnicamente, quais soluções obtiveram melhores resultados práticos. As faixas de segurança, o calçamento dos passeios e os semáforos para pedestres foram os melhores avaliados na pesquisa de opinião e na análise em campo.Due to the number of people who use the infrastructure designed for pedestrians, it is essential that it meets the parameters that ensure safety on sidewalks. There are laws and manuals that guide the way to run devices for pedestrians. However, do they represent the real users’ needs? This work was carried out through two surveys and a field analysis. These researches sought to identify, among those existing devices in the main standards and publications, which were indispensable to the population and, among the most important ones, as the people assessed the condition of the existing devices in the study area. The in loco analysis aimed to spot a technical examination of the existing infrastructure, identifying not only the mantioned devices indicated by the population, but, technically, which solutions got the best practical results. The pedestrian crossing, the pavement of the sidewalks and the pedestrian traffic lights were the best evaluated in the survey and in the field analysis
