Opinión pública: Conocimiento y objeto de conocimiento

Abstract

The essay approaches the public opinion considering its character of knowledge and object of knowledge, using three axes of analysis. Due to this duality, its distinctive specificity must be distinguished as a kind of knowledge that crystallizes in expression the affirmations and representations of common sense. At the same time, it is necessary to analyze the character of construction that it acquires when being approached as object of study. This implies admitting that the public opinion is an expression asked by the researcher who realizes a cut on this affirmations and representations of common sense. Finally, the essay proposes to analyze the approaches that allow the study of public opinion, and warnes the risk of assimilating the methodology to the object of study.El ensayo procura, a través de tres ejes de análisis, abordar la opinión pública considerando su carácter de conocimiento y de objeto de conocimiento. Debido a esta dualidad, debe distinguirse su especificidad distintiva en tanto tipo de conocimiento que cristaliza en expresión las afirmaciones y representaciones del sentido común y, a su vez, analizar el carácter de construcción que reviste al ser abordada como objeto de estudio. Esto último requiere reconocer que la misma es una exteriorización requerida por el investigador que realiza un recorte sobre esas afirmaciones y representaciones del sentido común. Finalmente, el ensayo propone analizar los abordajes que permiten el estudio de la opinión pública, advirtiendo el riesgo de asimilar la metodología al objeto de estudio
