Segregación residencial socioeconómica e intervenciones para contrarrestar sus efectos negativos: Reflexiones a partir de un estudio en la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina

Abstract

This article analyses the socioeconomic residential segregation (SRS) in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, understanding by SRS the spatial grouping of households that share similar economic, social and educational characteristics. Even though acknowledging the importance of the presence of structural components in SRS, in this article it is argued that the spatial segregation also works as a constitutive factor of social differences in the urban setting. Some socio-spatial biases present in various fields of the current urban management practices are also analysed, and correction policies for such biases are suggested, aiming and reducing the negative effects of the phenomena under study.En este artículo se analiza la segregación residencial socioeconómica (SRS) en la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina, fenómeno consistente en el agrupamiento espacial de hogares con similares atributos económicos, sociales y educativos. Sin desconocer la importancia de los aspectos estructurales, se argumenta que esta separación espacial opera también como un factor constitutivo de las diferencias sociales en el colectivo urbano. Seguidamente se consideran ciertos sesgos socioespaciales existentes en diversos campos de la actual gestión urbana y se sugieren políticas correctivas de tales sesgos a fin de atenuar los efectos negativos del fenómeno analizado
