International audienceWhat part plays the horizon in the architectural project? A doctoral research focuses on relations between architecture and horizon will serve to explore this question. This article restricts the analysis of the horizon in an exploration of architectural project, as it is described by the drawings and the words of the architects. First of all, the representations of the project are analyzed, as well as the design process which they explain. Works of Le Corbusier, Marc Barani, Pierre-Louis Faloci and Claude Parent, where the horizon is particularly present, are examined. The analysis of the horizon in the architectural project is then viewed in relation to the notion of experience, which is both translated and implemented by the project. The spatial and temporal limits of the project are finally questioned, just like the study of project practice.Quel rôle joue l’horizon dans le projet d’architecture ? Il s’agit d’explorer cette question à partir d’une recherche doctorale qui interroge les relations entre l’architecture et l’horizon. Cet article propose de circonscrire l’analyse de l’horizon à une exploration du projet architectural et urbain, tel qu’il est à la fois décrit et explicité par les outils des architectes : les dessins, les mots écrits et les paroles orales. Dans un premier temps ce sont les représentations du projet qui sont analysées, ainsi que les processus de conception qu’elles décrivent. Les travaux de Le Corbusier, Marc Barani, Pierre-Louis Faloci et Claude Parent, où l’horizon est particulièrement présent, sont évoqués. L’analyse de l’horizon dans les pratiques qui accompagnent le projet est ensuite mise en relation avec la notion d’expérience in situ, à la fois traduite et mise en œuvre par le projet. Les limites spatiales et temporelles du projet sont alors interrogées, tout comme celles de l’étude de la pratique du projet
