Bounce	  	  	  Bounce	  is	  in	  three	  movements,	  each	  of	  which	  includes	  audience	  and	  volunteer	  interaction	  coordinated	  by	  the	  video	  score.	  	  1st	  movement	  	  In	  the	  first	  movement,	  audience	  members	  perform	  by	  clapping	  along	  with	  their	  pre-­‐set	  colour.	  	  On	  entering	  the	  concert,	  they	  have	  received	  a	  small	  pipe	  with	  a	  coloured	  sticker	  on	  its	  side.	  	  Audience	  members	  clap	  when	  the	  ball	  of	  their	  colour	  bounces	  on	  the	  bottom	  line	  of	  the	  screen.	  	  As	  this	  takes	  place,	  the	  performers	  play	  patterns	  based	  on	  the	  rhythms	  shown	  on	  screen.	  After	  the	  pattern	  is	  completely	  built	  up,	  a	  staff	  appears	  on	  the	  screen,	  so	  that	  the	  coloured	  balls	  are	  now	  treated	  as	  pitches	  moving	  through	  the	  staff	  –	  the	  performers	  play	  the	  patterns	  that	  emerge	  as	  the	  balls	  move	  up	  and	  down	  the	  staff.	  	  	  2nd	  movement	  	  The	  audience	  has	  the	  choice	  of	  reading	  the	  poem	  that	  is	  displayed	  on	  screen	  or	  singing	  sustained	  notes	  shown	  on	  a	  staff	  –	  these	  notes	  move	  around	  the	  staff,	  creating	  a	  slow	  chord	  progression	  in	  chorale	  style.	  The	  volunteer	  performers	  play	  along	  with	  the	  main	  performers	  in	  executing	  this	  chorale	  as	  well	  as	  a	  cycle	  of	  sharply	  articulated	  chords	  shown	  in	  a	  wheel-­‐like	  figure	  of	  music	  notation.	  	  	  3rd	  movement	  	  Each	  member	  of	  the	  audience	  has	  a	  pipe	  (constructed	  of	  a	  short	  length	  of	  PVC	  irrigation	  pipe	  sealed	  at	  one	  end	  with	  tape,	  and	  coloured	  with	  a	  circular	  sticky	  dot).	  	  The	  pipes	  are	  precisely	  pitched	  as	  follows:	  	  White:	  G	  Red:	  A	  Yellow:	  B	  flat	  Pink:	  C	  Blue:	  D	  Orange:	  E	  Green:	  F
