'Sweet Youth' features the great John Chiodini onelectric and acoustic guitars in a mesmerizing interplay of voice and guitarperforming original music and duo arrangements of jazz standards the likes ofwhich have not been experienced since Ella Fitzgerald collaborated with JoePass... 'The Peggy Lee Project,' resulting from Oney's dissertation research,features Dr. Oney's updated, contemporary jazz arrangements of original songsby Peggy Lee to the delight of both young and seasoned audiences. Tish'scollaboration with Lee's former music director and guitarist, John Chiodini andhis talented jazz trio has produced this unparalleled tribute to an importanttwentieth-century American female songwriter. 'The Van Heusen Show' honorsthe fellow Syracuse native with Oney's contemporary arrangements of hislegendary litany of popular songs. 'Jazz Seasons' represents an eclectic jazztour of the four seasons appropriate for any time of year, compiling songs fromclassic and contemporary jazz, musical theatre and originals. 'Tish Oney'sSwingin' Christmas,' which debuted at the famous Jazz Bakery, features yourfavorite holiday music interpreted by the most talented jazz musicians touringtoday. 'Tish Oney's Big Band Excursion,' our new big band show, highlightsOney's calling as a big band vocalist and features contemporary and traditionalarrangements of classic jazz as well as new originals. 'An Evening With TishOney,' Tish's solo piano/vocal show, appropriately entertains smaller, intimatevenues. A highly successful "crossover" artist, Dr. Oney also tours as a lyricsoprano soloist, performing oratorio and recitals. 'A Journey Through HolyWeek With J.S. Bach' represents Oney's most popular recital of baroquesoprano arias, narrating the story of Jesus' final week on earth through themusic of this baroque master. This presentation is available as either a chamberrecital or orchestral concert with soprano soloist.  Oney's second CD, 'Dear Peg,' earned international recognition in WHLIRadio's Top 50 Releases of 2009. She has performed and recorded with severalnoted jazz artists including Les Brown, Donald Byrd, John Chiodini, BillWatrous, Bill Cunliffe, Noel Freidline, Bob Rozario, Bob Sachs, Ray Brinker,Mark Sherman, Ken Wild, Alan Steinberger, Joel Hamilton, Kendall Kay, BobLeatherbarrow, Paul Beaudry, Joe Riposo, Steve Brown, Bill Harris, andGeorge Reed, among others.  Tish maintains a very active touring and recording career. Her singing has beenfeatured internationally on radio, television and internet media. In 2009 Tishembarked on a national tour following the release of "Dear Peg," and continuesto appear worldwide as a full-time touring vocal artist. Tish has headlined atEarshot Jazz Festival (Kirkland, WA), Syracuse Jazzfest (Syracuse, NY),Wilson Center for the Arts (Brookfield, WI), Schaumburg Prairie Center forthe Arts (Schaumburg, IL), Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza (Thousand Oaks,CA) and the Hawai'i Convention Center (Honolulu, HI), among other regionaltheaters and large venues. She has performed at regional jazz hotspots fromThe Jazz Bakery and Charlie O's Jazz Club in Los Angeles to The Jazz Cornerin Hilton Head, South Carolina to Michael Feinstein's elite Park Avenuecabaret, Feinstein's at Loews Regency in New York.  'Dear Peg' honors the songwriting achievements of vocal jazz icon Peggy Leeand features former members of Lee's band including John Chiodini, guitar,Bill Watrous, trombone and Bob Leatherbarrow, vibes. The band also featuresL.A. jazz stars Kendall Kay on drums and Joel Hamilton on bass.  A mainstay in the Los Angeles and New York jazz scenes, Tish has beenlauded in the 2008 book "The Jazz Singers: The Ultimate Guide" authored byjazz critic Scott Yanow. She has also recently been honored to be named The2011-12 Robert G. Boehmler Visiting Artist at Ithaca College School ofMusic. A recipient of The Diane Warren Award, Dr. Oney earned a secondinitiation into national music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda for her musicalexcellence. Dr. Oney earned her Master of Music degree in Voice Performancefrom Ithaca College. She continues to actively perform, record, compose,arrange, teach master classes and appear worldwide as a soloist in both jazzand classical circles. Her diverse artistic talents combine to form a consummatevocal artist with exceptional technique, improvisational skill, and expertise.About This SeriesThis concert series is made possible by a grant from the Robert G. Boehmler, who received a bachelor’s degree from theIthaca College School of Music in 1938 and a master’s degree in 1961, was amusician and educator who established this foundation to support education inthe communities in which he lived. A music teacher in the Palmyra-Macedon(New York) School District for many years, Boehmler died in 1998.Now in its second century, the Ithaca College School of Music affirms its fundamentalbelief that music and the arts are essential components of the human experience.
